If we had a dollar for every time clients asked us about the difference between keratin treatments and keratin blowouts… we’d be on Chrissy Tiegan’s stylist level of balling. Instead, we figured that we’d educate our clients on the different types of keratin available at Salon Amore and the difference between a Keratin Treatment vs. a Keratin Blowout.
Below we’ve answered our top questions about our Keratin products to make it easy to decided which product and/or treatment is right for you.
What Keratin products do you offer?
We offer Global Keratin, Brazilian Keratin and Keratherapy. Talk to your stylist about what will work best for your based on your hair type, hair goals, and lifestyle (i.e. active vs non-active). The Brazilian Keratin is stronger, lessens the curl where as the Global and Keratherapy are great for shine and smoothing out already semi-straight hair. It humidity proofs the hair and makes it very shiny.
How long will it last?
This will always depend on how often you wash your hair, but a regular keratin treatment will last roughly 3-6 months. Again, this will depend on if you wash your hair often due to excersize, hair type etc. A Keratin blowout will last roughly 5-8 weeks, but again depending on how long you can go in between washes. Also, the more you apply Keratin, the more it builds up in the hair and the longer it lasts.
How long does it take to apply and do I need to schedule a separate appointment?
The Keratin treatment can take about 2-3 hours, depending on your hair type. The Keratin blowout takes no longer than a regular blowout. These are both a great add-on service and can be done in the same day as your cut and color service. Also, there is no wait to wash time, meaning you can wash your hair ASAP if needed immediately after your treatment.
What is the cost?
Keratin treatments start at $250
Keratin Blowouts start at $80
